Getting started
- Run the installerOpen MentaraSetup and click Install. It takes a minute and needs no admin rights.
- If Windows warns youNew apps get a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen until enough people have installed them. Click More info, then Run anyway.
- Create your accountIn the app, choose New here? Create an account. 15 minutes of talk are free every month.
- Pick a persona and talkA short tour shows you around. Press Turn on and just talk, through your own mic and speakers or headphones.
What do I need?
A Windows 10 or 11 PC (64-bit), a microphone, speakers or headphones, and an internet connection.
Can it join my Discord, Zoom or game calls?
Yes, on Pro. Platform mode puts its voice into any app that lets you choose a microphone. Upgrade any time in the app (Settings, then Upgrade), click "Install audio cable", restart once, and pick "CABLE Output" as your mic in the call app.
Why does Windows warn me about the installer?
Windows shows that screen for any new app it hasn't seen installed many times yet. It isn't a virus warning. To check your download is the real one, its SHA-256 fingerprint should be: listed here once published
How do I update?
The app tells you when a new version is out. Download it here and run it: it replaces the old version and keeps your settings.
How do I uninstall?
Windows Settings, then Apps, then Mentara Persona, then Uninstall. It removes the app along with its logs, memory and settings, and signs you out on this PC.
Mac, Linux or phone?
Windows only for now.
